IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING
Yes, our church is the one that is going to be the Church at the Pub.
The whole concept is meeting mixed reactions and I respect and appreciate those who perhaps are not crazy about the whole idea. I even read one blogger who was saying "What next? Church in a topless bar or a strip club?"
I guess I would pose one question to the author of that: "If God opened doors and paved the way for you to minister in a topless joint or a strip club, would you refuse Him the opportunity to reach people there?"
Please pray for the Country Rock Church when it starts to ride tomorrow evening.

I'm sort of uncomfortable with church at the Pub also. I even had to talk with Chris about it just to voice my concerns. It was a nice meeting. I wonder just how many concerned people have went to him and asked to talk about it rather than just make bad comments.
My earlier life was spent in places like the Pub and I still remember just how destructive it was for me.
It's been almost 20 yrs since I frequented bars and topless joints or strip clubs. I do believe that Jesus went into all those type places when He was preaching. He probably found the worst places He could find just to stir things up. He would like this idea.
I still don't like the idea alot but I do completely and totally support our folks who are doing the work. May God Bless them and their work. Rock On!!
Thanks for the comment, Draw. I completely understand and respect those who are uncomfortable with it.
Your personal story is HUGE, Draw -- what a testimony!
I think preaching in a pub is fine but it worries me a little that the alcohol will be "flowing." I totally agree that you have to go and preach the Word to everyone - regardless WHERE in life you find them - but doing it while the beer is being passed around? Not so sure that makes a lot of sense.
And, for the record, I'm not a tee totaller. I have an occasional drink - I just don't get "drunk" any more. But the flow of alcohol worries me less from a Biblical standpoint and more from a "sober" one. How can you truly pay attention to a pastor who's preaching if you're drinking at the same time?
Just some thoughts. Overall, though, I say go get 'em!
Thanks Jules. Great points. Interestingly enough, the alcohol was not exactly "flowing" last night but I am guessing The Pub has never before sold that many cans of Pepsi in one night!
