AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY
Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on what to do about the crisis in the US automotive industry? Nothing? Some sort of bailout plan? If so, in what form? (Yes, I have some ideas. I'm sure you expected nothing less ... but I'd love to hear from other(s) first!)

I believe that in order to get them going again, union members need to take a better look at pay and benefits so that cars can become more affordable to consumers. if a 20k car could be selling at 14k that would surely help. not all problems are with union wages and benefits either. management needs to be much leaner and it too take a substancial wage and benefit reduction. As I see it both are much to heavy in todays economy. They should try to model themselves closer to say Honda and Toyota for starters. This is just for starters.
