A GOOD DAY
Yesterday was my birthday. Even though I kept telling people that turning 29 wasn't nearly as bad as I had expected, I was fibbing a bit when I said that. As I recall, I think my Blogger profile gives my age away. So I can't fool anyone who might have stumbled across my blog.
I had a nice day yesterday. A complete surprise to me and along with some other really neat things, Lisa gave me something I have admired but could never have spent the money on for myself. She gave me one of those nifty European-style single cup coffee makers. It is truly a wonderful machine. We made our first cup of coffee on it last night. It's very easy to use and it makes a very good cup of joe, complete with a beautiful bit of foaminess on top.
Wow. I am pretty excited over that coffee maker. It will now be so much easier and faster for me to make a good cup of coffee at home. Lisa rarely drinks coffee so, unless we had guests, it just has never made much sense for me to make a pot of coffee at home.
Benjamin Franklin said, "beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." I am not so sure about that but you could certainly get my approval on substituting "a good, beautful, and tasty cup of coffee" for "beer" in that sentence!

That Franklin quote moves me everytime I hear it (God bless that man). And I totally concur that a good cup of java is additional proof of God's love for us.
Happy birthday Todd. I'm looking forward to having one of those cups of coffee with you sometime....
Have a great day!
Todd
Happy Birthday my blogging friend! What a wonderful present you got. I'm the same way - very rarely do I want a cup and nobody else drinks coffee (it tends to stunt the growth of Pugs don'tcha know?) so there I am...forced to go to Starb*cks for that lone cup a joe.
