EMERGING CHURCH
For a long time, I struggled with the term "emerging" when used in the the context of "the Church". I didn't understand to what it referred. Questions filled my mind like:
What are we trying to emerge from?
Why are we trying to emerge?
What are we emerging to?
Is emerging good or bad?
Over the last couple of years, my mind has started to get around this term and what it means ... and I like it ... a lot.
Scott Hodge, at his blog, posted today on what he means when he uses the word "emerging". It is a great summary of what I have come to understand ... and it is stated so well. Perhaps it will help some others out there deal better with this term.

Hi Todd.
As regards "emerging", here's a link I came across.

Hope it works.
Passing Through.
Thanks Eddie. Very interesting.
Several made me chuckle though in a rather pained way.
Anyone who attempts to carry the emerging church to the point of being a new theology is misguided, I feel.
However, if it is viewed as a missional way of engaging and connecting with current culture (without jeopardizing or sacrificing theology) then I bleive that I am coming around to understand and appreciate it.
Thanks so much for your comment.
